Individuals who require a temporary handicapped parking placard must obtain an “Application for Temporary Handicapped Placard” from the Monmouth University Police Department (MUPD) Headquarters, located at the corner of Cedar and Norwood Avenues. For the safety of the University community, MUPD is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The application must be completed by the individual, as well as by his or her physician, and then submitted to Monmouth University Police Department Headquarters between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Be sure to include a check or money order in the amount of $4 payable to New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services.
Anyone unable to visit Police Headquarters during the above-stated time can call 732-571-4444 or 732-571-3579 to set up an appointment.
Temporary placards are issued for a period of six months and may be renewed one time for an additional six-month period (at the discretion of the University) at no additional cost. The temporary placard will be honored in any New Jersey municipality. Anyone who requires handicapped parking for longer than six months will need to contact New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services and apply for a permanent placard or handicapped license plates.
