Rings, Rashes, Lumps, and Bumps: Skin Disorders in the School Age Child

Rings, Rashes, Lumps, and Bumps: Skin Disorders in the School Age Child

    December 5, 2017 at 5:30 pm–8:30 pm EST
    Magill Commons

Designed for the School Nurse or Pediatric Nurse, this workshop will cover assessment techniques, physical findings and treatment options for common skin disorders. The school health office is often the first place that a child will present with a wound, a lesion, rash, or an itch. The School Nurse’s assessment skills will determine whether the child returns to class or for further evaluation and treatment. Knowledge of skin disorders and diseases can help to ensure that a child receives appropriate care and can reduce the spread of diseases with the early implementation of infection control strategies.
