Alexis Silverio, Ph.D., is a specialist professor and researcher in the Department of Health and Physical Education at Monmouth University. She joined the University in 2023 and teaches a range of courses covering environmental health, lifespan development, epidemiology, and research methods. Currently, Alexis is the department advising coordinator, and assists all incoming and transfer students with various advising needs. Her research interests focus on health disparities and childhood obesity. She has co-authored 20 peer-reviewed publications and one book focusing on nutrition, exercise, common diseases, and other various health and wellness themes. She has presented at multiple national conferences including the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Public Health Association, and the Art and Science of Health Promotion.
