Job Title: Website Development Associate

Department: Communications

Location: Remote 

Duration: 4 Months

Compensation: Unpaid / Academic Credit Available

 

What You’ll Be Doing

As a website development associate, you will support the communications department by maintaining and improving our website. You will gain hands-on and real-world experience in updating content, including implementing design improvements, optimizing user experience, and ensuring that the website communicates the organization’s mission and initiatives. While this role has no rigid qualifications, we are looking for students interested in website development, digital communications, and user experience design. While not required, proficiency with Squarespace or a similar software is preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with updating and maintaining website content using Squarespace. Create and edit webpages, graphics, and multimedia content to boost user engagement.
  • Ensure the website is mobile-friendly, accessible, informative, and easy to navigate. 
  • Troubleshoot basic website issues and test pages for functionality across devices and browsers. 
  • Work with the communications department to make website improvements that support campaigns, events, and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • No prior internship or professional experience required!
  • Interest in pursuing a career or degree in computer science, information systems, web development, software engineering, digital media, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.
  • Interest in digital communications, web technologies, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Squarespace is preferred.
