Videography Trainee / paid internship opportunity 

Insight Editions, an award-winning independent book publisher and entertainment company, is offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring videographers and editors to gain paid, hands-on experience at a design-led company, supporting the marketing of high-end, meticulously crafted products. 

The videography trainee role will focus on video content creation and editing across marketing, social media, and brand storytelling initiatives.  

This position requires a six-month commitment. 

 

Trainee Highlights: 
• Assist with filming and editing video content for book promotions 
• Collaborate creatively with marketing and editorial teams 
• Gain experience in visual storytelling within the publishing industry 
• Paid position starting at $16.90/hr. The opportunity for a pay increase may be available following the successful completion of two (2) month introductory period, based on performance, skills development, and business needs. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 
• Create both short video clips (20 seconds) optimized for platforms like Amazon, as well as longer promotional videos highlighting book features, set to music 
• Edit external video content provided by authors and collaborators 
• Film and produce candid behind-the-scenes videos to  authentically showcase our creative process, and collaborations with staff, creators, authors, and brand partners  
• Collaborate with the team to ensure all visual content aligns with brand standards and marketing goals 
• Maintain organization and manage deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously 

 

Candidate Requirements (experience can be from an academic or professional setting): 
• Experience in videography and content creation, and an eagerness to grow skills in a supportive professional setting 
• Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere) 
• Strong attention to detail and creative vision for compelling visuals 
• Must be able to commute to our office in San Rafael, CA
