Tax Assistant / Junior Tax Preparer

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Job Type: Full-Time, In Person
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role
Financial Groove is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Tax Assistant / Junior Tax Preparer to support our growing tax team in Las Vegas. This is a great opportunity for someone with an accounting or tax background who is looking to build hands-on experience in a professional, client-focused tax and accounting office.

In this role, you will assist with gathering client tax documents, maintaining clear communication with clients, organizing workpapers and files, and supporting tax preparers with basic individual and business tax return preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and organize client tax documents
  • Communicate with clients by phone and email to request and follow up on missing information
  • Organize and maintain workpapers, files, and client records
  • Assist tax preparers with data entry for individual and business tax returns
  • Help ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly saved
  • Support the tax team with administrative and preparation-related tasks as needed
  • Manage multiple deadlines during busy tax season while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

Required Qualifications

  • Background in accounting, tax, bookkeeping, or related coursework
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working with confidential client information
  • Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping office
  • Familiarity with individual and small business tax documents
  • Experience with tax software, accounting software, or document management systems
