Position Summary

Manhattan Youth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the summer program at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.

This is a seasonal full-time summer position. Schedule is Mon-Fri 9am-5pm 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer first aid and care in cases of illness and accident to children ages 4 – 13.
  • Collect, review and keep health records and prepare and maintain reports.
  • Initiates health education and safety practices.
  • Maintains health emergency procedures.
  • Notifies Summer Camp Director of serious illness, accident or unusual situations.
  • Requisitions necessary equipment and supplies.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Must have worked with kids grades K-8.
  • A valid New York State Board Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification required.
  • Must have summer availability of M-F 9AM-5PM (Closed July 4th and 5th).
  • A nurse who enjoys the job and working with children and staff cooperatively.
  • Aware of food allergies/reaction/treatment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with campers, staff, directors and parents.
  • Able to provide excellent references.
  • Commitment to Manhattan Youth’s mission.
