Student Success Coach – Academic Specialist (AmeriCorps) – Huckleberry Youth Programs: SEEDS of Change

As a Student Success Coach – Academic Specialist with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support youth through academic intervention, mentorship, and individualized student support services. This position is hosted at Huckleberry Youth Programs – SEEDS of Change, a program dedicated to empowering young people through education, wellness, and community-based support.

AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will provide academic and case management support to help students build confidence, improve academic outcomes, and stay engaged in their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support and intervention to youth during class time and educational programming
  • Support students on an individual and small-group basis through tutoring, mentorship, and skill-building
  • Schedule and facilitate tutoring and case management meetings with youth and families
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage academic engagement and personal growth
  • Collaborate with program staff, educators, and families to support student success
  • Assist with tracking student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Support youth with goal-setting, organization, and academic accountability
  • Participate in program meetings, trainings, and organization-wide events
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and youth-centered program environment

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ~$2,700 per month 

Location: In person (Huckleberry Youth Programs – SEEDS of Change, San Francisco, CA)

Schedule:

  • 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday
