Student Success Coach – Academic & SEL Support (AmeriCorps) – Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE)

As a Student Success Coach with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support students through academic intervention, mentorship, and social-emotional learning support. This position is hosted at the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), which serves some of the most vulnerable student populations across Alameda County.

AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will have the opportunity to support students who are pregnant or parenting, expelled students, youth on probation, and young people detained in juvenile facilities. Members will play an important role in helping students build confidence, strengthen academic engagement, and access supportive educational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support and intervention to students in classroom and small-group settings
  • Support students’ social-emotional wellness through mentorship and relationship-building
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with historically underserved youth populations
  • Assist students with goal-setting, organization, and academic engagement
  • Collaborate with school staff and program teams to support student success strategies
  • Support classroom activities, student engagement, and educational programming
  • Help create safe, structured, and supportive learning environments
  • Assist with tracking student progress and maintaining accurate program documentation
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Support organization-wide and site-based activities as needed

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ~$2,700 per month 

Location: Multiple ACOE sites throughout Alameda County

Schedule:

  • 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday
