Student Success Coach (AmeriCorps) – OUSD Rudsdale High School
As a Student Success Coach with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support students through academic mentoring, social-emotional support, and individualized student success strategies. This position is hosted at OUSD Rudsdale High School, an alternative high school in Oakland serving a diverse student population, including students in credit recovery and newcomer programs.
AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will help students build the academic, personal, and life skills needed to succeed in school and beyond through mentorship, academic support, and relationship-centered guidance.

Responsibilities
- Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, and life skills needed for long-term success
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and relationship-based student support
- Facilitate small-group academic support, including homework help and credit recovery assistance
- Support students with individualized learning goals and academic engagement
- Assist students in navigating challenges within an alternative high school environment
- Support a diverse student population, including newcomer students and students in credit recovery programs
- Collaborate with school staff and program teams to support student success strategies
- Help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environment
- Assist with tracking student progress and maintaining accurate program documentation
- Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Schedule:
- 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
- Monday to Friday
