Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting functions. This role reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and quarter-end closing tasks. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in accounting and a desire to grow within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, and credit cards
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  • Maintain documentation for audits and year-end tax filings
  • Support financial reporting and analysis
  • Create and submit G702/703 AIA billing documents
  • Create and maintain waivers and sub-tier waivers
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience in a construction business is a plus
