The practice of speech-language pathology shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of techniques addressing speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to meet the needs of patients and their families with supervisory guidance provided as needed.  Otherwise, a speech-language pathologist shall work independently without direct supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree Conferred from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Coursework/Training Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Upon hire: New Mexico Speech Language Pathologist license- New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology. 
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association 
  • Upon hire: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology – American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • 2 years Professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Educated or trained in dysphagia assessment and management.
  • Neonatal Therapist (CCH acute only): Degree from accredited program.
  • 1 year Acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience.
