Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher / Academic Case Manager will provide individualized instruction, manage student IEPs, monitor academic progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure student success. This role involves instruction, assessment, special education case management, and curriculum support for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
  • Provide special education services and academic support
  • Create engaging, project-based learning opportunities
  • Monitor student progress and provide quarterly updates
  • Facilitate classroom instruction and manage student behavior supports
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
  • Collaborate with academic, clinical, and residential teams
  • Supervise and support teaching assistants
  • Assist with curriculum development and school programming
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • New Hampshire Special Education Teaching Certification or enrollment in an approved certification program
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Preferred

  • Experience teaching middle school and/or high school students
  • Experience working with students who have social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges
  • NH DOE Special Education certification
  • Two or more years of teaching experience

Mount Prospect Academy can support qualified candidates in obtaining certification through a professional development plan.
