GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe and reliable patient care in coordination with the healthcare team. The primary role of the Registered Nurse is the execution of providing required care and evaluation of care given. Responsibilities include: assessment, differential nursing diagnosis related to focus problem areas, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care given. Performance of these responsibilities requires specialized knowledge, critical thinking skills, and skills based on principles of psychological, social, physical and biological sciences that utilize the registered nurse scope of practice.

EDUCATION and TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a valid State of Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) according to the standards of the American Heart Association.

Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be successfully obtained within 1 year of hire.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) will be successfully completed within 1 year of hire.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) will be successfully completed within 1 year of hire.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

One year prior professional nursing experience preferred.

Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of nursing practice with a concentration in emergency nursing

Must have the ability to demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others. Maintains commitment and enthusiasm to goal achievement.

Salary Range

$32.10 – $44.94
