Position Summary

The NP/PA Clinical Student will work under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers and approved preceptors to gain practical experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making. This rotation is designed to enhance clinical knowledge, develop professional competencies, and prepare students for successful careers as advanced practice providers.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and participate in patient evaluations under supervision.
  • Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations.
  • Assist in developing differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Document patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) as permitted by program and practice guidelines.
  • Review laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging results with supervising providers.
  • Participate in patient education and counseling.
  • Attend clinical meetings, case discussions, and educational sessions.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Complete all program-specific clinical objectives and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • In good academic standing with the sponsoring educational institution.
  • Eligible for clinical placement according to program requirements.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Proof of required immunisations, background check, and any additional documentation required by the clinical program.
