JOB POSTING: Part-Time Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year (with the potential to become full-time) 

JOB SUMMARY:  Position duties consist of teaching Math class to 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  The instructor will oversee the progress of all students, provide for their individual needs and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of Mathematical instruction. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching Math to grades 6, 7 and 8 on Monday through Friday.  
  • Oversee the progress of all students in your groups, provide for their individual needs and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 
  • Instruct, monitor and evaluate students in the use of learning materials and equipment. 
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, following the school student handbook.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary protocols of the school. 
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Effectively prepare and adapt the classroom for varied classroom activities.
  • Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and assignments. 
  • Maintain rapport and communication with parents, administration, and staff members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS in Mathematics, Education, or related field
  • PA Level 1 Teaching Certification (preferred)
  • 1-year teaching experience preferred
