Overview
YWCA seeks individuals for part-time position(s) to execute all professional standards for lifeguarding along with upholding YWCA’s rules and regulations to provide a safe environment for all pool patrons.

Duties

Responsibilities: · Represent, advocate and communicate the mission and philosophy of the YWCA to the community at all appropriate times. · Maintain a safe environment at all times. · Ensure safety of pool patrons at all times. Plan and implement age-appropriate programming. · Promote and practice positive and continual communication with participants. · Identify potential accidents hazards. · Be alert or prevent accidents (risk management). · Handle situations with courtesy and fairness. · Group supervision. · Follow established substitution procedures. · Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures. · Administer First Aid and CPR as required. · Keep accurate records and statistics as assigned. · Promote and maintain positive relationships with all YWCA personnel. · Communicate all relevant information to HWS Department in a timely manner

Requirements

Current Lifeguard Certification

Age 16+

Must successfully pass the State of Iowa criminal records background check
