Many capable people face the “experience paradox”: employers want experience, but gaining it often depends on someone giving you a first opportunity. GlowUp ACS is a nonprofit that helps emerging professionals bridge that gap through meaningful, hands-on opportunities to develop practical skills, contribute to real projects, and gain experience they can apply throughout their careers.

We’re currently rebuilding after funding changes required us to scale back some of our programming. That makes this a unique time to join GlowUp ACS. Associate Interns can contribute directly to the systems, projects, and programs supporting our next stage of growth while gaining firsthand experience working within a small nonprofit where their contributions can have a visible impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment, screening, and onboarding of new interns and collaborators.
  • Maintain and improve HR tools, databases, and documentation (e.g., Notion, Google Drive).
  • Draft and refine team policies, handbooks, and communication templates.
  • Support check-ins, feedback surveys, and scheduling systems.
  • Contribute to wellness and culture-building initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • Interest in HR, organizational psychology, operations, or people management.
  • Strong writing, communication, and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
  • Comfort with Google Workspace (familiarity with Slack or Notion is a plus).
  • Reliable computer/laptop, stable Wi-Fi, and a webcam/microphone.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on nonprofit human resources experience for your resume and LinkedIn.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, screening, onboarding, employee records, HR communications, policies, and team engagement initiatives.
  • Mentorship and feedback, with access to professional development resources as capacity allows.
  • Optional college credit where your school offers it, with documentation provided on request.
  • A reference reflecting your contributions, where earned.
  • Opportunities to take on greater responsibility as you grow with the organization.
  • A welcoming, inclusive, mission-driven remote team.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Grow with GlowUp ACS!
