POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops, organizes, implements, and monitors a range of sports, fitness, and recreation activities, based on member’s requests, research, and previous successes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and lead structured gym activities such as basketball, volleyball, fitness circuits, and other activities based on the daily schedule set by the Athletic Coordinator.
- Supervise youth during gym time, ensuring safety and adherence to Club rules.
- Organizes, schedules, and monitors team and group activities.
- Develops and communicates rules and guidelines for participation.
- Researches, develops, offers strategies to enhance and expand programs
- Maintain gym equipment and ensure proper usage and storage.
- Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and conflict resolution among members.
- Collaborate with other staff to integrate physical activities into overall youth development programming.
- Enforce safety procedures and respond to injuries or incidents appropriately.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth.
- Coordinates and communicates equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Engages members in areas of recommendations, program and equipment feedback, and areas of concern.
- Manage, monitor, and report on issues of safety and security.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Associate’s Degree in Physical education, Recreation, or related field with 2 years related experience; or 5 or more years’ experience successfully managing high activity youth sports programs.
- Experience in planning and directing a wide range of youth sports, fitness, or recreation programs.
- Ability to create marketing and communications programs for this function.
- Experience in dealing with, and resolving, a wide range of issues involving program participants.
- Ability to deal with safety and emergency issues.
- Proven capability to effectively manage staff and volunteers.
