The intern will be part of a professional research team and will work under the guidance of senior research staff as they assist in evaluating child abuse prevention programs funded by OCFS, including but not limited to statewide home visiting initiatives. The graduate student will have the opportunity to participate in various inter-agency and inter-disciplinary planning meetings and help integrate research and evaluation findings into practice and policy.
Anticipated tasks include design and implementation of comprehensive literature searches pertaining to the prevention of child maltreatment and best practices in home visiting, including summarizing and synthesizing peer reviewed articles and research reports; collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to better inform implementation practices; presenting findings to program and administrative teams; and disseminating knowledge in accessible language via oral presentations and infographics. Senior staff will mentor intern to further develop intern’s existing skillset and identify new opportunities for growth.
