About the Role

AEI Consultants is seeking an energetic and professional Entry-Level Project Manager / Environmental Technician to join our expanding Industrial Hygiene team in Walnut Creek, CA. In this role, you will perform field investigations and testing services—including asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality testing—while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Perform field investigation and environmental sampling techniques for Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM), Lead-Based Paint (LBP), mold, and indoor air quality.

Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of environmental sampling and monitoring equipment.

Prepare accurate and complete technical reports of survey findings.

Acquire and maintain required environmental certifications and training for compliance.

Communicate clearly and regularly with senior management, project managers, and clients.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or degree candidate) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Biology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related science fields.

Experience: 0–3 years of experience/knowledge in environmental consulting projects and sampling techniques.

Skills: Excellent technical writing, time management, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Style: Self-starter, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple project deadlines with senior staff guidance.

Travel: Willingness to travel to local project sites as needed.

Preferred Licenses & Certifications (Not Required to Apply):

Asbestos Inspector

Mold Assessor Training / Licensure

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER

Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Licensure

Physical Requirements

Work takes place in both indoor (offices, retail, multi-family housing) and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Ability to handle field equipment, travel independently, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
