We are recruiting a Community Education & Outreach Programming intern to join our team to assist in the development and implementation of community education programs.

The HSS Community Education & Outreach Department provides educational programs for patients and community members focused on the prevention, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal and other health conditions. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health, community education, program operations, and health promotion.

Key internship roles include:

  • Assist with in-person and virtual exercise and wellness programs, including in-person program setup, participant and speaker management, and day-of event logistics. 
  • Provide customer support to community members, including assistance with registration, scheduling, and technology troubleshooting.
  • Support the planning and implementation of educational workshops and webinars. 
  • Help create marketing materials for programs, including promotional content and social media posts. 
  • Support webinar and workshop preparation, data entry, and administrative tasks. 
  • Assist the programming team with special projects and other departmental responsibilities as needed.
  • Adhere to all HSS policies and procedures, including professional conduct, confidentiality, and privacy requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills and experience working with clients, patients, or community members. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in public health, health education, community outreach, or related fields.

 

Required Availability (non-negotiable due to program schedule)

  • Tuesdays: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Wednesdays: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Availability for 2–3 Wednesday evening programs during the semester
  • Additional hours will be scheduled based on student availability

Candidates must be available during the Tuesday and Wednesday daytime hours for consideration.

 

Location – Hybrid internship, in-person attendance required for scheduled programs

Compensation – Student Stipend ($25-30/day) available

Dates – August 2026 – December 2026
