Job Duties:

  1. Deliver highly interactive experiences to groups of participants in the program and create experiences that promote success in specific program areas.
  2. Organize, lead and adapt a variety of stimulating activities appropriate for the age and experience of the group with a positive and enthusiastic manner.
  3. Maintain and use program resources efficiently and ecologically.
  4. Provide safe conditions and refrain from engaging in activities that may be hazardous or negligent to those involved.
  5. Keep the Program Director informed of activities and any progress of problems or questions related to the program.
  6. Actively participate in all of the program activities.
  7. Lead and facilitate lessons that teach, model and practice social emotional and content area skills.
  8. Adapt lessons to the needs and experience of participants and engage all members of the group in ways that allow them to build their skills and confidence.
  9. Complete evaluations with program participants and communicate results appropriately.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of program participants.
  11. Evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments to enhance the outcomes and experience.
  12. Provide direction and support to volunteers and/or staff as assigned.
  13. Attend assigned staff training.
  14. Represent the YMCA and create a program culture that incorporates, highlights and models the Y values.
  15. Maintain positive, professional communication with site contacts and/or participant families.
  16. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  17. Experience working with target age groups and post-secondary education in program area is preferred.
  18. Perform all other duties as assigned.
