California’s waters are home to whales bigger than school buses, elephant seals, sea otters, and countless other sea creatures. But – destructive practices like oil drilling, overfishing, plastic pollution and climate change are all putting the health of our oceans and marine life at risk. Scientists recommend that we set aside untouched ocean space for wildlife to thrive. Like national parks in our oceans!
This year state agencies are making key decisions about these marine protected areas. That’s why we’ll be building up public support from everyday Californians to show that we want to protect more of our oceans!
