Accounting Intern – Trade Promotions & Accounts Receivable
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our Trade Promotions and Accounts Receivable team. This role provides hands-on experience with deduction processing, promotional tracking, and financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update deduction backup for key customer accounts (C&S, UNFI, Safeway, Kroger)
- Ensure all backup documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Research and retrieve missing backup from customer portals and internal systems
- Assist with processing deductions including vendor compliance (VCs), shortages, spoils, and unloading charges
- Support processing of promotional deductions and validate claims against agreed terms
- Track and update deduction activity in Excel and shared files
- Help organize documentation for audits and reporting
- Assist with administrative tasks including mail, checks, and scanning
- Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large datasets or document-heavy processes
