Office of Residential Life
The residential life program at Monmouth University is based on the belief that residence-hall living provides a unique opportunity for students to gain a variety of experiences that supplement and complement the formal classroom.
Our program strives to meet the many and varied needs of students who are diverse in their personal histories and backgrounds. The goal of the residential life staff is to develop an environment that is supportive of students’ academic endeavors and that promotes individual development. It is expected that students will act as adults in a mature and responsible manner and contribute to their hall community, since involvement is essential to personal development and growth.
The residential life program also includes providing reasonably safe, clean, and comfortable facilities. Additionally, the program includes developing communities that emphasize the acceptance of responsibility for personal and group decision making, mutual respect, concern, a sense of cooperation and sharing, and the empowerment of students to become active and participating members of the residence halls and local communities.
