2016 Future of the Ocean Symposium and Champion of the Ocean Awards

The UCI held its 12^th Annual Future of the Ocean Symposium & Champion of the Ocean Awards Luncheon on Dec. 7, 2016, at the Great Hall. The event’s theme was “America’s Ocean Future: Priorities for Congress and the Next Administration.” See below for videos and additional resources from the event.

New Jersey Gov. and EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman received the UCI’s National Champion of the Ocean Award at the luncheon. Dr. Donald Boesch, President of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, received the Regional Champion of the Ocean Award. The UCI also presented State, Coastal and Ocean Leadership Champion of the Ocean awards to David Rosenblatt, Assistant Commissioner, Engineering and Construction, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), and Elizabeth Semple, Assistant Director, Division of Coastal and Land Use Planning, NJDEP.
