Rebecca Stafford Student Center

Description

The Rebecca Stafford Student Center is the central hub for the campus’s cultural, social, and recreational activities. This building houses several administrative offices while also playing host to student club meetings, concerts, conferences, workshops, banquets, and a wide variety of other programs and activities.

The resources offered in the student center serve as routine fixtures for life outside the classroom. Students will find tutors, counsellors, and academic advisors committed toward helping them succeed at Monmouth. Visitors can dine in a cafeteria serving a variety of meal options, like Dunkin’ Donuts and Jersey Mike’s Subs, or use the ATM. The student center also features lounges, meeting rooms, and an outdoor patio for members of the Monmouth community to congregate.

History

Since 2003, the building has borne the name of President Emerita Rebecca Stafford (1993 – 2003). Throughout her 10-year tenure, Dr. Stafford oversaw a variety of changes that bolstered the school’s ability to offer quality educational experiences, including its attainment of university status in 1995. “I am so honored and flattered to have my name on the student center,” commented Dr. Stafford. “The students have always been what we cared about the most and why we are here.
