    In My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m in Therapy! – using dialects, accents and sound effect, Steve brings to the stage dozens of wild characters we all relate to; all brought to life by Steve’s comedy magic. His four shows have had audiences in three countries guffawing since 2003. Almost one million people have seen his shows. The audience follows along on this wonderfully funny journey about growing up, mixed marriages, ex-wives, dogs, cats, dieting, and dozens of other side-splitting situations we can all relate to.

    You don’t have to be Italian or Jewish to love Steve Solomon — all you need to know is what it’s like to leave a family dinner with heartburn and a headache. Prepare to laugh until you cry as Steve brings to life over twenty wacky characters in a show that’s one part lasagna, one part kreplach and two parts Prozac.

  • POSTPONED – Edda Glass and Max Hatt

    Max Hatt / Edda Glass have “an incomparable spook” (Nashville Scene) and “a unique sound” (Larry Groce, NPR), comprised of Glass’s unmistakable voice and Hatt’s lyrical guitar. Originally based in Montana, their award-winning original music and unique interpretations of American and Brazilian standards have taken them all the way to New York City’s Lincoln Center, DC’s Kennedy Center, NPR Mountain Stage, Sundance Film Fest and Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival. Praised for her “impeccable vocal command” (PopMatters) and compared to a gamut of singers from Astrud Gilberto to Billie Holiday, Glass’s voice is ultimately “one of a kind…you cannot confuse her with another artist” (New York Theatre Guide). Hatt’s equally distinctive guitar work combines the harmonic innovations of jazz with the melodic resonance of folk, creating music that’s “subtly poignant, elegantly funky, and haunting without trying to be” (Nels Cline, Wilco). Together, Max Hatt / Edda Glass evoke a world that stretches from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro to the prairies of the American west, telling stories of little people on great plains, and leaving audiences with a feeling both light and deep.

    Cherish The Ladies are a Grammy Award nominated Irish-American super group that formed in 1985 to celebrate the rise of extraordinary women in what had been a male-dominated Celtic music scene. They’ve brought their signature blend of virtuosic instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, and stunning step dancing to the White House, the Olympics, and to PBS with their television special, An Irish Homecoming, which recently received an Emmy Award.

    Now in their 35th year as a band, their new album, Heart of the Home, embraces the gift of music passed down from generations. As their reputation and admiration from both fans and critics alike continues to grow, Cherish The Ladies blazes forward into another decade of music making.

  • Black Like Me: An Exploration of the Word N—–

    Black Like Me: An Exploration of the Word N—– is a multidisciplinary work that explores the reverb of a single word in a global community. It considers the effects of the word n—–  , all its permutations, its history, and its casual use in Hip Hop culture. In collaboration with two of America’s leading Black media-design technologists and local activists, it asks if it is possible to redefine a word that was intended to belittle a people. Black Like Me combines physical, verbal, visual and sonic language to tell five narratives and perspectives in a unique way.

    Jade Solomon Curtis is a dance artist and choreographer who integrates classical and African-American vernacular movements with mixed-media and Hip Hop culture. Through the lens of a contemporary black woman, Curtis’ works ponder tradition and reinvention, social justice, social constructs as well as intuition and logic–often resulting in the subversion of an idea. She is the founder of Solo Magic, a non-profit arts initiative collaborating with innovative artists to create socially relevant performances. She is a 2018 Artist Trust Fellow and a 2017 University of South Carolina Inaugural Visiting Fellow. Curtis was an artist-in-residence at SLIPPAGE Lab at Duke University this March. She is also the subject of an Emmy Award-winning short film, Jade Solomon Curtis, directed by Ralph Bevins.

    An annual holiday tradition, Father Alphonse Stephenson and the Orchestra of Saint Peter by the Sea return for their 29th concert of carols and

    seasonal favorites. Conductor Father Alphonse Stephenson, who is a Brigadier General in the US Air National Guard, holds a honorary doctorate of music from Monmouth University and was the music director for the 1980’s Broadway run of A Chorus Line, provides humorous and personal anecdotes amidst a program of holiday classics and carols performed flawlessly by his 42-piece orchestra and distinguished vocalists.

    Presenting the 25th Anniversary concerts of On A Winter’s Night from veteran singer-songwriters Christine Lavin, John Gorka, Patty Larkin, Cheryl Wheeler and Cliff Eberhardt. These are among the brightest stars of the singer/songwriter movement for the past three decades.

    In 1994 Christine Lavin gathered them together, along with folk and Americana artists to showcase music of the Winter Season on the now classic On A Winter’s Night CD, followed by several years of touring collaborations. These artists have released dozens of recordings and toured steadily through the decades, with fond memories of their touring days together. Now in 2019-2020, the winter season is again celebrated by these unique and popular performers, back together by popular demand.

    Dance meets film meets virtual reality: Bridgman|Packer Dance will present Voyeur, their highly acclaimed work that received a 2017 New York Dance and Performance Award. Featuring choreographer/performers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer’s innovative work in “Video Partnering”—the integration of live performance and video technology— Voyeur is inspired by artist Edward Hopper’s world of color, light, perspective, and under-the-surface eroticism. Fragmented moments of private lives are witnessed through windows and doorways. As the performers merge and collide with the video imagery, the presence of a seen or unseen viewer lies at the heart of Voyeur. Voyeur will be paired with other work from Bridgman|Packer Dance’s repertory.

    Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer have been presented by Lincoln Center in New York City, City Center’s Fall for Dance Festival, 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Festival, Dance Theater Workshop (now New York Live Arts), Central Park Summerstage, Baryshnikov Arts Center, and The Sheen Center. Their 2008 Guggenheim Fellowship was the first in the history of the Guggenheim Foundation to be given to two individuals for their collaborative work.

    Songwriters Hall of Famer Steven Dorff’s career spans five decades, with over 400 songs and numerous No.1 hits recorded by legendary artists such as Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Anne Murray, Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Whitney Houston, Alison Kraus, Aaron Neville, Ringo Starr and countless others.

    Dorff is a gifted composer in every musical field and has over 28 placements in TV series such as Murphy Brown, Growing Pains, Murder She Wrote, Columbo, Reba, Spenser: For Hire, and Just the Ten of Us. Dorff also worked on music for films such as Every Which Way But Loose, Pure Country, Rocky IV, Tin Cup, and Honkytonk Man. He is the musical director for the new Murphy Brown series, and has a cut on the new Barbra Streisand album.

    An Evening with Melanie is an unforgettable night of songs and stories from the incredible career of the artist who became known as “The Female Bob Dylan.” Accompanied by her son, Beau-Jarred, the show is a musical journey that starts with that momentous day in the summer of 1969, when Melanie first attracted national attention with her Woodstock performance.

    Melanie’s singles Brand New Key (Roller Skate Song), Lay Down (Candles in the Rain), Peace Will Come, Look What They’ve Done To My Song, Ma and Ruby Tuesday have all achieved chart success, with Brand New Key reaching No. 1 and remaining in the charts for 18 weeks in 1971. In the U.S., Melanie has had 13 Top 40 hits, including three No. 1 hits.

    A new generation was exposed to Melanie with the release of Miley Cyrus’ cover of Look What They’ve Done To My Song, Ma. A year later, Miley Cyrus invited Melanie to be part of her Backyard Sessions, and together they recorded a live version of Look What They Done To My Song Ma and Peace Will Come.
