This three-session virtual course provides attendees with a multimedia introduction to popular music’s history and various forms. Students will enjoy engaging, wide-ranging discussion about the soundtrack of our lives and its past, present, and future. Instructor: Ken Womack, Monmouth University Professor of English and Popular Music, as well as the author of numerous books about the Beatles.

Gordon Marshall, drummer with The Moody Blues for over 25 years, knew that there was a hunger in the market for Moody Blues music. To fill the void, he put together an amazing group of musicians and formed the band GO NOW!, a tribute to the music of The Moody Blues. Mick Wilson, the lead singer of GO NOW!, was the lead singer with 10cc for over 20 years. Gordon and Mick are joined on stage by Patrick Duffin, Ryan Farmery and Nick Kendall, and together recreate the magical music we all know including all the major hits. With 25 years experience with The Moody Blues, Gordon has created true-to-the-original arrangements, making every performance truly magical. The live streamed performance at the Harlequin Theatre in London marks the first time since early spring that the band will come together and perform, on stage at this beautiful theatre, with a brand new, never before seen concert! “Live from Adelphi Concert Series” brings Broadway and cabaret stars together online for several concerts performed at Adelphi’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Sunday afternoons. Adelphi has partnered with venues across the country to help promote the series and the artists. Award-winning cabaret and jazz artist Carole J. Bufford celebrates the songstresses of the 60s & 70s with music made famous by Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Carole King, Lesley Gore, Dionne Warwick, Cher and others. Putting her own inimitable spin on these classics, she will delve into and celebrate a time of great change and transition in America and across the pond. A portion of each ticket sold will directly support that Monmouth University Center for the Arts.
