Student Clubs and Honor Societies

The Department of World Languages and Cultures gives all students the opportunity to learn about, and contribute to, other cultures. Anyone interested in Spanish or Italian—no matter their major—are welcome to join our Spanish Club and Italian Club. These clubs enable students to promote awareness of these cultures through events, activities, and community service projects.

For Minors and Majors in Spanish and Italian, we encourage you to seek membership into two world language honor societies: Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish) and Gamma Kappa Alpha (Italian). These national honor societies recognize academic excellence in these languages. Members pledge to carry forth the traditions of that particular culture and honor those who have made significant contributions to it.
