Student Success Coach – College Access (Bilingual Spanish Preferred) (AmeriCorps) – Mission Graduates

As a Student Success Coach with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support high school students on their journey toward college and career success. This position is hosted at Mission Graduates, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and families on the path to higher education.

Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply as this role works closely with students and families in the Mission District.

AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will provide classroom support, academic coaching, college advising, and individualized guidance to help students successfully transition to post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

  • Support a caseload of 12th-grade students with college and career planning
  • Assist students with financial aid applications, including the FAFSA and California Dream Act Application
  • Support students with 2-year and 4-year college applications
  • Help students explore post-secondary education and career pathways
  • Provide classroom support for 11th and 12th grade college access programming
  • Provide classroom support for 9th and 10th grade students to promote academic engagement and success
  • Build positive relationships with students through mentorship, coaching, and individualized support
  • Collaborate with school staff and Mission Graduates team members to support student achievement
  • Participate in family engagement activities, school events, and professional development opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Passion for working with high school students and supporting college access
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Interest in education, youth development, counseling, or college access programming

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ~$2,700 per month 

Location: John O’Connell High School or Mission High School – San Francisco, CA

Schedule:

  • 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday
