About BetterCampus

  • BetterCampus is the student-built Chrome extension transforming how students experience their learning platform.
  • We started as a simple tool that made Canvas look and feel better. Today, over 1.8 million students use BetterCampus to personalize dashboards, organize workloads, and make school less stressful.
  • We’re now expanding into a full academic productivity suite with assignments, grades, study tools, collaboration, and analytics.

About the Role

  • We’re looking for Software Development Interns who love to build, learn fast, and make a real impact. You’ll work directly with our core team to ship new features used by thousands of students daily.
  • You’ll touch every layer of our stack — from front-end pages in React and Next.js, to backend logic in Supabase, to analytics and payments integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain new features across the BetterCampus platform (React / Next.js)
  • Work with Supabase for database operations, APIs, and authentication
  • Integrate Stripe for payments and subscriptions
  • Implement analytics and event tracking with PostHog
  • Collaborate in code reviews, sprints, and product planning with the design and product teams
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented TypeScript code
  • Debug, test, and optimize for speed and reliability on Vercel

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React (required)
  • Familiarity with Next.js and modern front-end workflows
  • Basic understanding of SQL and backend concepts (Supabase or Firebase experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, and session handling
  • Interest or experience in analytics tools (PostHog, GA4, etc.)
  • Curiosity about payments, webhooks, and APIs like Stripe
  • Comfortable with Git / GitHub collaboration
  • Passion for learning, experimenting, and shipping fast

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently a university student or recent grad
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • At least 1+ year of experience with software development
  • Able to commit 15–40 hours per week for an internship
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Chrome Extensions or browser APIs
  • Familiarity with UI frameworks like Tailwind CSS
  • Past personal or open-source projects you can show off
  • Interest in EdTech or improving student productivity

Why Join Us

  • Work directly with founders shipping code to 2M+ users
  • Flexible hours, real product ownership, and resume-level experience
  • A startup culture that values creativity, autonomy, and impact
