Flexible Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Approximately 15-20 hours per week

Wage: $15.00 per hour

 

Job Duration: Starting Fall Semester 2026; may be renewed on semester-by-semester basis for up to 12 months 

Job Summary:

Position is open to individuals who are currently enrolled in an accounting program at an accredited university/college. Under general direction, assists with monthly reconciliations, financial analysis, audit preparation and other accounting activities designed to provide practical experience in governmental accounting and municipal finance. Under direct supervision, conducts testing for internal audits of various financial policies. Assists with special projects. Performs other related duties as required. Conducts self in a professional manner which demonstrates courtesy and respect for all community members and co-workers. 

Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other:

Enrollment as a student in Accounting within an accredited university/college required. Junior or Senior Accounting Major or Master’s program student preferred. Demonstrated experience with work or projects requiring attention to detail and organizational skills required. Requires basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and/or governmental accounting standards. Should have competency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. Must have excellent communication skills, be reliable and willingness to learn. Must pass criminal background check.
