Front Office Healthcare Intern
Overview
Synergy Health 360 is seeking a motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Healthcare Front Desk Admin Intern to support the daily operations of our wellness and medical practice in Phoenix AZ. This internship is designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in healthcare administration, patient relations, and medical office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and eager to learn in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
This role begins with a 30-day unpaid training period. Upon successful completion of the training program and satisfactory performance, the position will transition into a paid role.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
Assist patients with completing intake forms and required documentation.
Verify patient information and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Check patients in and out for appointments.
Assist with patient communications, appointment reminders, and follow-up calls.
Maintain organized patient files and administrative records.
Support front office operations, including scanning, filing, and document management.
Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries as directed.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; currently enrolled in or recently completed a healthcare administration, business administration, medical assisting, or related program preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Prior customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience is a plus but not required.
