Position Overview: 

Kia’s University Cooperative Education Program is designed to attract top undergraduate talent, provide meaningful hands‑on experience, and build a strong pipeline for future full‑time and part‑time entry‑level hires. Interns gain exposure to real-world Engineering and Administrative projects within a dynamic, international manufacturing environment.

 

Internship Opportunities: Co-op students may be placed in a variety of departments, which include Engineering: Process Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Quality Engineering, EHS Engineering. Business: Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain, Public Relations.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Enrolled in a 4-year accredited bachelor’s degree program 
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing 
  • Ability to work on-site in West Point, GA
  • Internship dates vary by semester
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Innovative mindset 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Basic engineering and math skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

 

Program Structure & Compensation:

Students may participate during spring, summer, or fall semesters:

  • Winter/Spring: January–May
  • Summer: May–August
  • Fall: August–December

 

Additional details:

  • Paid bi-weekly
  • Hourly compensation: $24.00 (Engineering), Administrative: $22.00 (Business)
  • Housing allowance: $1,000 (within 50 miles), $2,000 (beyond 50 miles)
  • Team wear and safety gear provided

 

What to Expect as an Intern: Interns gain hands-on experience in a multicultural, high‑performance manufacturing environment, building résumé‑ready skills and professional confidence. They benefit from meaningful skill development, networking opportunities, financial compensation, and a potential pathway into full‑time employment.
