Metro Atlanta Chamber Communications: Our Mission

Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) Communications drives a strategic approach to spotlight the region’s economic strength, talent pipeline, and thriving communities. We amplify the impact of MAC investors and partners, telling the story of metro Atlanta’s growth and innovation. 

MAC seeks a communications intern to support our efforts in advancing the region’s business ecosystem across the 29-county metropolitan statistical area. This role is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications while contributing to meaningful work that impacts businesses, communities, and economic growth in metro Atlanta. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Monitor news, compile coverage, and share summaries
  • Track specific topics and create insightful reports
  • Gather news and produce a weekly internal newsletter
  • Support public relations and media outreach by drafting press releases, newsroom posts, letters, and recaps. 
  • Draft captions for social media and update website copy
  • Contribute to C-level briefing documents
  • Edit internal documents and newsletters for other MAC teams
  • Lead a self-directed, longer-term intern project

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or status as a rising senior in journalism, public relations, or communications 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of or experience with AP style, with the ability to write in different formats
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong research, writing, and interviewing skills to produce authentic, creative, and high-quality content
  • Professional and positive attitude, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong project and time management skills
