What types of events occur at the The OceanFirst Bank Center?

In addition to live concerts and family shows, The OceanFirst Bank Center hosts athletic events such as basketball and track, along with special events, such as University’s Winter Commencement and Monmouth University’s Open House. The OceanFirst Bank Center also hosts community events by off-campus organizations such as retreats, youth programs, graduations, and social functions.

What if the event I’m attending is a non-Monmouth University event?

Ticket information for events being held in The OceanFirst Bank Center by external organizations can be obtained by contacting the organization directly. Please note that answers to the questions listed on this page may not apply to external organization events in The OceanFirst Bank Center. Questions regarding non-Monmouth University events should be directed to the organization holding the event. Ticket Information

Where can I buy tickets for concerts and shows?

Purchase tickets by calling 732-263-6889, or by visiting The OceanFirst Bank Center and Pollak Theatre box offices. Links to purchase tickets for specific events are available on the University Athletics website as well as the Monmouth University Center for the Arts website.

Where is the Ticket Booth/Will Call Booth located?

The Monmouth University Central Box Office is located to the right of the main entrance of The OceanFirst Bank Center and one window is open in the entrance lobby next to the Bookstore.

What time does the Ticket Booth open?

The box office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. On days of show, please check the event profile on The OceanFirst Bank Center Web site for information specific to each concert.

Will Call

The Will Call Window is located at the Central Box Office. If you are picking up tickets at Will Call, please bring a valid photo ID (license or passport) and the credit card used to purchase the tickets. Monmouth University students must have current student photo ID. Please be aware that the Will Call Window generally opens three hours prior to event start time and closes one-half hour after the event start time.

Lost Tickets

If you do not receive your tickets in the mail, or if they are lost or stolen, please contact your point of purchase.

Cancelled/Postponed Events

In the event that a concert is cancelled or postponed, please visit the event profile on The OceanFirst Bank Center Web site, specific to the event for which you possess tickets, for more information.

Refunds and Exchanges

There is a no refund, no exchange policy on tickets for all concerts.

Transportation/Arrival/Parking

Where is The OceanFirst Bank Center at Monmouth located?

The OceanFirst Bank Center is located on the north end of the main campus. For additional information, please visit our driving directions or our printable campus map.

Where will I park?

Parking is available in the Monmouth University parking lots accessible from Larchwood Avenue. On-street parking is generally prohibited.

Will I have to pay for parking?

A parking fee will be charged at certain concerts and events. Visitors should check the event details to learn if a fee will apply.

What time do the parking lots open?

For concerts, the parking lots generally open three hours before the start of the concert. Please check the event profile on The OceanFirst Bank Center Web site for information specific to each concert.

Is valet parking available?

Valet parking is available for some concerts. Please check the event profile on The OceanFirst Bank Center Web site for information specific to each concert.

Am I allowed to tailgate in the parking lots?

No. Tailgating is prohibited.

Where is the closest train station?

The closest train station is the Long Branch station (North Jersey Coast Line) about 1.5 miles (2 kilometers) from the campus. There is a taxicab dispatch office at the train station for easy transportation to campus.

What time do the doors open?

Generally, the doors open one hour prior to the start of the concert. Please check the event profile on The OceanFirst Bank Center Web site for information specific to each concert.

Security/Prohibited Items

Can I carry in items with me?

In the interest of guest safety and enjoyment, Monmouth University reserves the right to prevent certain items from being carried into the facility. Patrons with prohibited items should return them to their vehicle or discard them. Items cannot be left outside the venue doors. Unlawful items that are discovered during inspections are subject to being confiscated, and the person in possession of those items is subject to arrest.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited items include but are not limited to: cans; bottles; backpacks/bags; food; alcohol; drugs; smoking materials; cameras; video equipment; recording equipment; sharp or dangerous items (weapons, knives, spiked items, chains, fireworks, and mace); laser pointers; and skateboards.

Cameras

This policy is at the discretion of the artist. Please check the concert profile for more information.

Recording Devices

Video camera and audio recording devices are strictly prohibited.

Miscellaneous

Can I go outside and re-enter?

No. Re-entry is not allowed.

Are handicap accommodations available?

Yes, there will be a sign for the ADA accessible entrance. Elevators are located in the southwest corner of the building. Wheelchair seating is available. A companion ticket can also be purchased. Assistive Listening Devices, which operate on an FM frequency, are available for deaf and hearing-impaired patrons. Please call the Box Office to reserve ALD in advance of the event.

Are ATM machines available?

There is an ATM machine located on the second floor of the Student Center.

Concessions

Snacks and drinks are sold at concession stands located inside The OceanFirst Bank Center. Outside food and beverages are not permitted in The OceanFirst Bank Center. Debit and credit (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted at the two main concession stands but not at satellite kiosks.

Designated Smoking Area

There will be a “Designated Smoking Area” located outside of the exit door located near the south west elevator. Anyone caught smoking in the facility will be extricated. No re-entry will be permitted.

Alcohol Management

Alcoholic beverages may be sold at specific events. All guests may be required to show valid ID to purchase alcohol. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any guest.

Children

Everyone who attends a show must have a ticket. We do not recommend bringing infants to performances. Strollers may not be brought in to the seated area of the venue.

First Aid

Medical staff is available at most events for medical emergencies.

Where can I pick up lost and found items?

You can check with the Monmouth University Police Department (MUPD) Dispatch Desk at 732-571-4444 (extension 4444 from an on-campus telephone) to ask if your missing item has been found. You may claim recovered items at MUPD Headquarters with appropriate identification. The MUPD is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is located at the corner of Cedar and Norwood Avenues.
