Dear Colleagues:
As we turn the calendar from June to July, I bring good news to you at the start of our new year.
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) has officially granted reaccreditation to Monmouth University for the next eight years. Recall that the review team found 0 requirements and 0 recommendations during its site visit in April, reflecting our shared commitment to educational excellence. The team also commended us 12 different ways for our work across numerous categories. This recognition reflects the great work that happens around here day-in and day-out. It should be gratifying to all of us that our accrediting body, made up of independent peer educators from other fine institutions throughout the country, sees this work, and recognizes it.
I want to thank everyone who so graciously and energetically committed themselves to this multi-year process, including all of the members of the Steering Committee. In particular, we owe a debt of gratitude to our co-chairs, Dr. Patrick Walden and Dr. Bea Rogers, to our Accreditation Liaison Officer, Christine Benol, and to our Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Rich Veit. Without their tireless efforts, this excellent outcome would not have been possible. On behalf of all of us, I thank them!
I am grateful to each and every one of you for the ways in which you support our students. I wish you a happy 4th of July weekend.
Pat
