Laura Turner, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Mathematics, was recently appointed associate editor of American Mathematical Monthly for a one-year term. In her new role, Turner will evaluate submissions, determine their qualifications for review, suggest potential reviewers, and handle split review decisions.
“I’m very pleased to be serving on the board of the Monthly. Editorial work is interesting, keeps me reading, and puts me in touch with new developments in my field,” Turner said.
This is Turner’s third editorial position. She is currently a member of the editorial board for Dolciani Mathematical Expositions, a Mathematical Association of America book series, and formerly served as associate editor of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society, the society’s membership journal.
American Mathematical Monthly is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing original expository research and other features about mathematics and the profession.
