
Erica Sciarra, Ph.D., DNP, APN, A-GNP-C, CNE, assistant professor of nursing, recently co-authored of a chapter in “12 Keys to Health, Happiness, and Well-Being for Nurses and the Healthcare Workforce: An Evidence-Based Guide” (Melnyk et al., Wolters Kluwer, 2025). The book provides practical, evidence-based strategies and tools to support the well-being of health care students and professionals.
Sciarra’s chapter, “Unlock Digital Well-Being: Key Tactics for Effective Messaging and Connection,” explores the importance of evaluating, strengthening, and optimizing digital wellness. It includes valuable resources and real-world examples demonstrating the successful integration of evidence-based strategies to enhance digital well-being, according to Sciarra.
The chapter was co-authored by Sherry Chesak, assistant professor of nursing, Mayo Clinic; Jessica Semin, academic wellness coordinator and assistant professor, The Pennsylvania State University; and Christina Lightner, assistant professor, University of Nebraska.
The book covers 12 dimensions of wellness and offers a holistic approach to health with a framework that addresses every aspect of well-being, from emotional resilience to work-life balance.
