Prof. Frith and Education Student Madison Bush Join ACUE Panel

Danielle Frith ’06, Ph.D., LDT-C, NCED, specialist professor in the Department of Special Education, and Madison Bush, senior early childhood elementary education student, recently participated in a student-faculty panel hosted by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) held at Rutgers University.

Frith and Bush joined the ACUE team, along with other higher education faculty and students, to discuss best practices for teaching and learning in higher education. The panel encouraged reflection and open discussion on challenges facing faculty and students today, with topics including engagement strategies, giving and receiving feedback, and building career-ready skills in the classroom.

“As a proud member of the inaugural cohort of ACUE-certified faculty at Monmouth University, I’m humbled by how much I’ve grown through this experience, gaining evidence-based strategies that have strengthened my teaching and will continue to positively impact my students’ success,” said Frith, noting that completing the experience with her student Bush made the conference especially meaningful.

As a student panelist, Bush shared her perspectives on best practices for learning in a higher education environment. “It meant a lot to be part of a panel alongside my professor and to be in a room full of passionate educators who genuinely care about student success,” she said. “This experience was especially valuable because it helped me grow more confident in sharing my voice and gave me a deeper appreciation for collaborative, student-centered learning—something I hope to carry into my future career as an aspiring teacher.”

The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) is dedicated to student success through high-quality instruction. In partnership with higher education institutions, the organization offers the only nationally recognized Effective Teaching certification, endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE), supported by a vibrant online community of practice focused on advancing teaching excellence.

Frith received her ACUE credential in Effective College Instruction in 2023 as a member of the inaugural cohort at Monmouth University.
