Katiane Drummond ’18M, a dual language teacher at East End Elementary School in North Plainfield, N.J., met President Joe Biden during his visit to pre-K classrooms on Oct. 25. ““I know that you have a kind heart and you’re here fighting for humanity, and people like me, and people like our kids who need the foundational means to grow,” Drummond told Biden.
The Associated Press reported that Biden was visiting the school to highlight his Build Back Better Agenda, which aims to make universal preschool a reality for all American families.
“A significant number of these kids, because of you, are going to be going to college,” Biden told educators during the visit, according to press coverage in NJ.com.
Drummond appears at the 21 second mark in a video released by The White House.
