Erica Sciarra, Ph.D., DNP, assistant professor in the Department of Nursing, John R. Patro Jr., OTD, OTR/L, associate professor and chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy (OTD), and Cristianna Cardinale, OTD student, were recently featured on an episode of the Nurse Educator: Tips for Teaching podcast to discuss their recently published article, “Student Wellness and Engagement: Strategies for Health Professions Education” (Nurse Educator, 2024).
The podcast dives into the key points of the article, which explores innovative strategies for fostering wellness and engagement among health professions students. Sciarra and Patro share their expertise in creating supportive learning environments that prioritize student well-being, while Cardinale offers her perspective as a student who was directly involved with the pilot program.
“The collaboration between faculty and a student in publishing this work underscores Monmouth’s commitment to interprofessional education and the integration of diverse perspectives in addressing challenges in health care education,” said Patro.
