Monmouth University Is Top College for Veterans

Monmouth University has been recognized as one of the most military-friendly schools in the country. The University has received accolades from four organizations for its commitment to serving military students and veterans.

Military Advanced Education (MAE) named Monmouth University a top school in its 2015 MAE Guide to Colleges & Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education. In addition, the University is designated as a “Military Friendly School” by Victory Media, a “Best for Vets College” and “Best for Vets Business School” (for its MBA program) by Military Times, and one of the “2015 Best Colleges for Veterans” by U.S. News & World Report.

“Our active military and veteran students bring an invaluable diversity of real-world experience to our residential coastal campus,” said Paul R. Brown, president of Monmouth University.

“Recognition as a top national program that prepares our students to compete and succeed is always an honor, especially for students who are active members of our community, both in and out of the classroom, and who have already given so much to our country,” Brown said.

Monmouth has an Office of Veterans Services that provides certification, orientation, and support through the many adjustments to college life. The Veterans Association, formed by a group of students and a member of the Student Veterans of America, is very active on campus and promotes understanding and awareness for all veterans attending Monmouth University.

A highlight of Monmouth’s military-friendliness is the Military Bridge Program, which allows undergraduate students who do not meet Monmouth’s traditional admission requirements to enroll for a transitional semester; students become fully matriculated after earning satisfactory grades.

Monmouth is also a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program. In partnership with the Veterans Administration, Monmouth University contributes matching funds to supplement the veterans’ educational benefits to cover the full cost of tuition and fees for veterans who choose to attend a private institution.
