Reel Verse: Poems About the Movies, an anthology of poems edited by Monmouth University English professor Michael Waters, Ph.D., and Harold Schechter, has been published by Alfred A. Knopf. Reel Verse covers a hundred years of poetic tributes to the movies.
A renowned poet, Waters is the author of numerous collections, including a volume of poems entitled The Dean of Discipline (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018), which draws praise in reviews in current issues of literary journals including The Georgia Review and The Gettysburg Review.
A 2017 Guggenheim Fellow, Waters has been the recipient of five Pushcart Prizes and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Fulbright Foundation, and New Jersey State Council on the Arts. His next book, Caw, his thirteenth collection of poems, will be published by BOA Editions in 2020.
