Blue Hawk Records Releases ‘Down to Earth’ on Dec. 5

Monmouth University’s student-run record label, Blue Hawk Records, will release its 26th studio compilation album, “Down to Earth,” on Dec. 5, followed by a release party at Woods Theatre.

The album features original tracks from five student artists: Julia Gale, Clark Appling under the stage name Clark-Cassius, Kashi Deepak of Half Right, Mary Louisa Jodry, and Scenic Route composed of Alexis Finkelstein, Ethan Rosmarin, Leonardo Hernandez, and Evan Knizner.

“The process of creating our 26th compilation album ‘Down to Earth’ was one of the most inspiring processes to be a part of. As a class we were able to learn the process of creating and producing an album in just 14 weeks with no prior experience. This process has helped us grow so much and prepared us to enter the industry,” Allison Spinelli, general manager of the album, said.

Students in Professor Joe Rapolla’s Record Label Strategies course produced and promoted the album with Katherine Grone, a member of the marketing and promotion teams, creating the cover art.

“As for the promotion side of it, it was so interesting to work to create a theme and unified brand, capturing that aspect while keeping true to each artist’s vision for their own song,” Grone said.

Chloe Garcia, a member of the marketing and press team, added, “Putting together this album from a promotional perspective was not only a fun but rewarding experience led by a dedicated team that captured the magic of each artist.”

“Down to Earth” can be presaved on all on major streaming platforms.

The release party on Dec. 5 is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., and will feature live performances, food, prizes, and more.
