
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers – American Heart Association (AHA)
This course is intended for health and allied health providers (licensed and non-licensed), students working in healthcare settings, fire fighters, police officers, paramedics and EMT’s. Following the AHA guidelines, this in-person training is designed to prepare individuals to provide BLS in a variety of settings.
Upon completion of course requirements – participants will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS provider completion card which is good for 2 years.
The following content will be included:
- AHA’s Basic Life Support (BLS) principles and procedures for adults, children, and infants including simulated demonstration and repeat demonstration
- Administration of CPR
- Establishing effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants
- Working as a team in multi-rescuer resuscitation
Pre-registration is required. Please register early as registration for each session is limited.
