    It’s just like book club but with albums! With new advances in technology, the way we consume music through our devices, apps and on demand streaming services like Pandora, Spotify and iTunes is making the idea of the “album” as an art form extinct. Get together with other music enthusiasts on Tuesday nights to discuss some of the greatest records of all-time! Listen to the album beforehand and then come prepared to discuss.     We are still waiting for more information about whether we will be able to hold this event in-person. However, we are also committed to continuing offering access virtually to Tuesday Night Record Club for all our new audiences! You can register now for Zoom access to the event.   • Virtual Living Room Concert Series – Stay Safe, Stay at Home – Volume 4

    Monmouth University Center for the Arts is proud to present the fourth installment of our Virtual Living Room Concert Series – Stay Safe, Stay at Home featuring some of your favorite singers, songwriters, poets and musicians from the Jersey Shore and beyond!

    The concert will premiere on the Center for the Arts YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/wAza7NBF4HA on May 7, 2021 at 8 PM with a live chat from some of the performers and will be available to stream on the channel anytime afterward.

    This living room concert features: Steve Forbert and Tom Parr ’85; Lucy Kaplansky; Pat Guadagno;  Anthony Nunziata; Joe D’Urso and John Gorka.

    The concert is directed by Monmouth University Alumnus Tom Parr ’85 and sponsored in part by Riptide records.

  • Women in Leadership Symposium

    We are excited to announce the Women in Leadership Symposium on April 20, 2021 from 3 to 5 PM (zoom) aimed to reach all current or aspirational leaders/employees in P-12 education, higher education, and business. This FREE symposium is brought to you in partnership with New Jersey Association of School Administrators, Monmouth University, and Equitable.

    The focus of this year’s symposium is on wellness and will feature author and educational advocate Tina H. Boogren, Ph.D. Boogren is the author of numerous books centered on her passion areas of quality instruction, coaching, mentoring, and wellness and hosts the weekly podcast “Self-Care for Educators with Dr. Tina H. Boogren.” A panel of multidisciplinary professionals will provide insights and strategies to help professionals integrate wellness activities into their professional lives.

  • Wonders of the Night Sky Virtual Planetarium with Liberty Science Center

    Liberty Science Center’s all-live signature show, Wonders of the Night Sky, is an exhilarating 35-minute experience that explores our stars and beyond. See the galaxy as it appears to the naked eye, as well as through the eyes of NASA’s robot probes, of the Hubble Space Telescope, and arrays of telescopes from around our planet. A portion of the show is set aside to include the latest breaking news in astronomy and aerospace, taking full advantage of Liberty Science Center’s new Digistar 6 full dome system, which allows seamless passage from the night sky to another planet to the heart of another galaxy.

  • Virtual Mixology Class with Philadelphia Area Alumni

    Join your fellow Philadelphia area Hawks for a Virtual Mixology Class! Alisha Miller ’96, alumna and Racks Pub and Grill owner and operator, will lead the virtual cocktail making from the comfort and safety of your own home! Alisha will share tips and techniques on how to make two perfect cocktails, a Lemon Drop cocktail and an Old-Fashioned. You can drink-along, build-along, or watch with your own concoction in hand. A Zoom link will be provided to registrants prior to the event, as well as a list of ingredients to make each cocktail! All participants will also receive a Monmouth-branded commemorative beer glass!

  • Student Scholarship Week

    Monmouth University’s 6th annual Student Scholarship Week: Celebrating the Research, Creative, and Service Accomplishments of MU Students will take place virtually April 19-23, 2021. Student Scholarship Week is a weeklong conference that showcases and celebrates students’ academic work inside and outside of the classroom, as well as highlights faculty-student collaboration, across the University. This includes highlighting students’ scholarly contributions in research, writing, service learning, clinical experiences (i.e. study abroad, internships), musical and theater productions, art exhibits, student development and leadership, student clubs, etc.

    This year, Student Scholarship Week will be held virtually for the safety of our students and staff. Each day of the week will feature one theme with a variety of student projects showcased through a mix of live Zoom sessions and asynchronous posters and videos.

  • Human Rights and the Environment: Perspectives from India

    This panel features experts on a wide range of emerging challenges that India faces at the intersection of human rights and the environment including climate justice litigation, the interplay between sustainable development and the rights of indigenous communities, climate change communication and climate migration, and the relationship between climate migration and human trafficking.
