Gallery Exhibition: Jeremiah Teipen’s Inforifices
Inforifices, an exhibition by Jeremiah Teipen, features new works that aestheticize the processes by which we consume (and digest) large amounts of visual information. Teipen creates mesmerizing experiences that mirror our current hyper-saturated mediascape, but also allow the viewer to transcend it.

Lewis Mumford, a dynamic writer, literary and architectural critic, moralist, historian and philosopher, criticized progress based on the intoxicating power of technology and the machine. He argued that the advancement of civilization should be cultivated by humanism, and that technology should never be used to acquire global domination, promote military prowess, or erode individualism.

‘The paintings in this show for the most part have been inspired by Pre Renaissance and Renaissance iconography. Although some may be based on familiar and traditional themes, all of the paintings are original contemporary interpretations of these themes.’

Gallery Exhibition: Mike Harper: The Art of Illustration
Opening Reception: Fri. February 7, from 6 – 8 p.m.
Mike Harper a realistic airbrush artist who has illustrated professionally for over 15 years. He has worked with numerous publishing companies and advertising agencies that range from American Tourister to Zebra Pens. Works on display will include various advertising illustrations, book covers, editorial works & promotion pieces used by noted publishers Bantam, Scholastic, & Harlequin.

10 AM show sold out! The Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee (and all-around mischief-maker) in this romp through the Seuss classics. When the sweet, good-natured elephant Horton hears a small cry for help coming from a small speck of dust, he promises to rescue and guard it because “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”

On Screen/In Person: The Exquisite Corpse Project
In The Exquisite Corpse Project, five writers are presented with a surprising challenge: each must write 15 pages of a movie, having read only the previous five pages of the script. Combining documentary and narrative, this unique film is both an absurd comedy. There will be a Q&A with the film maker after the screening.
